The group of scientists from the University of South California (USA) published the results of the long-term research in the medical magazine “Cancer”, according to which the abuse of different types of drugs, marijuana in particular, significantly increases the risk of testicular cancer in men.
163 men with the testicular cancer at the age between 18 to 44, and 300 absolutely healthy men of the same age were selected for the research, held in Seattle.The research results showed that 81% of the testees smoked marijauana on regular or permanent basis long before the establishment of the terrible diagnosis.
“This is already a third type of research that once again confirmed the dependence of the testicular cancer on the frequent marijuana abuse”, - Victoria Kortseyz, the head of the scientific group, stated.
