Luck favoured Chinese police again. They managed to intercept a record consignment of cocaine in the history of contemporary China – 640 kg of pure drug.
The RTHK reports that during the operation in the seaport of Hong Kong, customs officers found several containers delivered from Ecuador. The illegal sale weight of drugs was detected as the result of the narrow search, According to the investigators, the drugs were intended to be distributed in the territory of China and neighbouring countries.
The value of the drug consignment is estimated approximately as $98 million. Three suspects are detained. The investigation is in progress.
