Recently a couple trying to smuggle 16.8 kg of cocaine from Brazil to Spain was arrested in Madrid.
A suitcase the suspects rushed to bring into a plane flying to Barcelona aroused suspicion of police officers. However, the transitional boarding in the airport of Madrid was the last one for the suspects.
Searching the suitcase, police have found two boxes containing prepacked white powder. Laboratory tests showed that the powder was cocaine of very high quality.
The detainees are charged with a crime against the health of the nation and drug smuggling.
