The organizers of the Peace Caravan came to Los Angeles to gather support of Holliwood stars in their struggle against barbarous anti-drug policy of the USA. The ideologue of the event is Mexican Poet Javier Sicilia. His son was killed during a special operation against drug cartels, although he had no relation to the drug trade. “We appealed to the stars because they are against violence and barbarousness, as a rule”, Sicilia said. The caravan is supported by many public organizations and public figures. They all demand the USA to soften its policy on the issue and change the course of its struggle with drug problems from criminal to medical aspect. Another point of agenda of the Peace Caravan is tightening control over the sale of weapon to individuals in the USA, as it directly causes worsening of the criminal situation within the region.
