As a result of joint efforts of Portuguese police, navy and air forces, 9 people who tried to smuggle drugs are arrested. One of the criminals died. The drug police managed to prevent smuggling 3 tons of hashish.
The detainees are citizens of Portugal and Spain. They are charged with hashish transportation from Morocco to Spain. Currently the interrogation is in progress.
According to Portuguese mass media, police caught the criminals flatfooted. They didn’t expect any raids in the region and that’s why they acted quite openly.
