Doctors tend not to talk about "recovered drug addicts," and prefer the term "inactive addicts" – those who don’t use drugs right at given moment. In your opinion, is it not possible to get rid of this label? Even in the opinion of drug treatment experts, patients remain forever addicted. How can the modern society be taught to have an adequate attitude toward former drug addicts and consider them as a part of the society?
3 In any case, drug addict should be treated as a human patient who needs love, care and support. We need to work with doctors using special treatment plan and psychotherapy, to convince the person to return to normal life, where, I will point out once more, the family plays an important role. Living in harmony - is the best defense against drug trafficking and other dangerous things. Sports activities with family, visiting mosques, churches, worship of God, instilling morals and conscience from an early age, the atmosphere of love and respect in the house - all these makes strengthens the family in a rapidly changing society full of problems. Especially today, when everyone tries get benefit from almost anything.
The reasons for drug use have socio-economic side - nuclear families, poverty, ignorance, unemployment, bad company. Government should work on public safety and prevent penetration of criminal elements into the power structures. The state must suppress any attempts of money laundering.
Educational institutions should take care of not only about the learning process, but also of leisure time students. It is necessary to carry out activities, lectures, seminars, debates about the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, with the participation of competent authorities.
Materials about prevention of drug abuse should be included in the school libraries in the form of manuals, CDs, movies.
Competitions, projects, theatrical productions, drawings about the harm to drug user, as well as ToT’s for teachers and should be organized to raise awareness a bout drug addiction.
Many medical facilities for treatment of drug addicts in the Arab and Islamic countries in need to be improved. Their conditions don’t meet needs of patients who face numerous challenges. Some are still considered as psychiatric hospitals, where treatment takes a long time and cost a lot.
In a society where there are healthy and sic people, everyone has a right for a decent life, housing and employment. Rights and obligations of cured drug addict should be the same as of all other peple.
The physician plays an important role in instilling trust and confidence in the patient by supporting him. Society and doctors in the first place, should not treat people who have recovered from drug addiction as people who pose danger. Prejudice often prevents us from proper judgment of others. The state and people themselves must give recovered people the opportunity to “re-enter” the society. -
In you opinion how important is parental education and relationships within the family in preventing drug addiction?
Family is the basic and most important unit of the society. Order and harmony with families result in order and harmony within the society. Human personality develops within the family. Disharmony among household members prevents this development.
There are many reasons causing troubles in the families: unemployed parents, lack of financial resources, the need to work at an early age and as a consequence -separation from parents. All these leads to the fact that children drop out of schools, get into bad companies and end up involved in criminal cases. It can certainly be said that treatment alone is not enough.Society, from family to the whole states, must pay attention to the education of the younger generation.
Continuous communication between parents and children is the most important factor in the prevention of drug. Even though parents are educated adults, they should listen to what experts say about the issue. This is very important.
